Zustand: Very good. - Small quarto [8-1/2 inches high by 6-3/4 inches wide], soft covers bound in printed white wraps with a turquoise glassine keyhole in the front wrap revealing part of a visual poem & with a black-and-white illustration on the rear wrap. The wraps are very lightly soiled & spotted & somewhat darkened along the spine. Unnumbered pages of visual poetry, the first piece in the book consisting of 10 leaves, each cut to a different width to reveal part of the following leaf. Some bottom page corners are lightly creased. Very good. An introductory note by "Amendant Hardiker. March 1989" explains that "Wakest Aims?" is "a composite assembling of styles of visual information.a collaboration between Liz Was and Miekal And (Madison, WI) and Michael Helsem (Dallas, TX).They have deliberately contrasted the hand-drawn with the computer-generated, the cave painting with the graffiti. Language has been twisted to form palindromes and anagrams. Photos have materialized out of nowhere to be assigned neologisms. Glyphs have been etched into paper & slogans have been coined. Such is the nature of Wakest activity.".

Zustand: Very good. - Oblong quarto, 8-1/2 inches high by 9-7/8 inches wide. Softcover, bound with yellow thread in pink wraps and illustrated with a black & white pictorial label mounted on front cover. The covers are lightly soiled with creases along the edges and a couple of light vertical creases to the rear cover. Color pictorial title, 10 silk screen color illustrations & visual texts plus a color colophon page, with a purposely roughly torn half sheet of cream paper printed in Braille bound in as the first and last page. The top front corner of the last silk screened page is slightly stained by run-off from the pink ink. Very good. Limited edition of 50 numbered copies screen printed by the author at Survival Graphics.RARE.

Includes writings by Vittore Baroni, Eric Hiltner, and a feature on bespoke musical instruments ("one of Dreamtime Village's sources of financial self-sufficiency will be mail-order sales of handmade musical instruments"). Softcover, bound in pictorial green & orange wraps, titled in orange & black with a sepia illustration on the front cover and a black & white one on the rear cover. The covers are lightly rubbed & the corners very lightly creased. 68 pages, with profuse black & white illustrations, including a double-page centerfold. The corners of the pages are bumped. Very good. Laid in at page 34, as per the index, is the Zine Insert: "Noise Culture #1 Supplement to Art Papers March/April 1990", a 12-page 16 inch high by 11-1/2 inch wide newspaper, folded in half horizontally with pictorial covers on both sides. The supplement includes interviews by Allison Ritch with drag queens Tabboo! (the drag queen character of Stephen Tashjian), the American drag queen Ru Paul, Fflloyydd, Deelite, and Miss Mary. There is a tiny hole to the center of the fold of the last leaf. Else, near fine. VERY SCARCE.
