Dust wrappers, generally very smart. Dust wrapper of" Pigeons" and "Mimff-Robinson" clipped. Slight lifting to front flap of dust wrapper, tape reinforcement to inside front joint of wrap. Sligh rubbing and bumping to extremities, resulting in the odd very minor chip and closed tear to extremities. Slight age toning to wraps of older copies. Offsetting to edges of flaps to "A Ring of Bells". Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with one or two spots, heavier to fore edges. Chapters 4 "Hans as a soldier" and 5 "The lucky Hans" (as the victor of a gymnastic competition), seem to be missing in the copy referenced by Geßmann. Illustrated with beautiful color illustration, many full page, the book emphasizes the patriotic attitude of the time. Text in German, Gothic script. Some wear along edges of binding with light staining. Interior rubbed. Overall in good condition.
