Edition originale. 1 fascicule in-8, pp. 849-886, 13 planches comprises dans la pagination, broché, couverture muette moderne (papier vergé), envoi autographe signé des deux auteurs au Professeur Lenormant, très bon état. Très rare tirage à part, imprimé à Hanoï. Jacques Meyer-May (1896-1975) et Pierre Huard (1901-1983) occupèrent successivement la chaire de clinique chirurgicale à la Faculté de médecine de l'Indochine. Ils furent les spécialistes des abcès hépatiques à cette époque et avaient déjà rédigé une monographie sur le sujet en 1936. Leurs travaux eurent des applications importantes pour la chirurgie des tumeurs hépatiques (cf. Helling TS & Azoulay D: Historical Foundations of Liver Surgery, p. 55). Après s'être retiré de l'Armée, Pierre Huard fut nommé en 1967 professeur d'anatomie à la Faculté de médecine de Paris. Les auteurs exposent ici "les faits soit nouveaux, soit incomplètement interprétés" dans leur livre. Leurs remarques cliniques "s'appuyent sur une nouvelle série de 100 observations." Belle provenance: Charles Lenormant (1875-1948) fut chirurgien des hôpitaux de Paris, professeur de pathologie externe puis de clinique chirurgicale à Cochin, membre de l'Académie de médecine et président de l'Académie nationale de chirurgie. Signé par l'auteur.
