Ownership inscription dated 1944 to recto of first free end-paper. Illustrated throughout in black and white. Binding worn in places with a tear without loss to the foot of the spine. First free end-paper creased. Some spotting to contents. Generally good.

Bound in half-morocco.Illustrations include a frontispiece, an engraved vignette title page, and a range of in-text illustrations.This is a work on Napoleon Bonaparte's experiences within the country of Egypt, written in French by Jean de Metz and Georges Legrain. Bonaparte led a military expedition to Egypt that served as a springboard to his political power, which this work expands upon.Written by Jean de Metz and Georges Legrain. Legrain (1865-1917) was a French Egyptologist. He spent much of his life working within Egypt and undertaking research on the country's ancient history, architecture, and antiquities.Collated, complete. In a half-morocco binding on cloth boards. Externally, very smart. Minimal rubbing to extremities and spine. Discolouration to the margins of the boards, with a few marks to the boards as well. Age-toning to the margins of the paste downs and the endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with the odd spot particularly to the first and last few pages. Very Good. book.
