The chain of Terror examines the links among the systematic arrests, forced confessions, and executions at the Subdistrict, district, region, and zone levels throughout the Southwest Zone. Using extensive primary documentation and interviews with 125 victims and 18 former Southwest Zone security cadres, Mr. Ea established clear connections among the Zone?s security centers (at least 153,000 people died in only 4 of the Zone's 250 security centers.)
