Muslims live in a vast and diverse region that stretches from West Africa to the southern Philippines, as well as Muslim communities and Diaspora, scattered throughout the world. In the Muslim world, religion, politics, and culture are intertwined in complicated ways. This chapter is dedicated to dig-out and examine the dynamics that are driving changes in the political-religious landscape of the Muslim world, and to provide the global policymakers, the broader academic and security circle, with a general outline of events and recent trends, in the Islamic militia, that are most likely to affect U.S. interests and global security.In thus chapter, we can have an insight which ideological zeal Muslims in the Middle East and somewhere else seem to follow. They differ significantly not only in their religious views but also in their political and social orientation, in particular, women's rights and the content of education and their tendency for violence. Based on such political and religious analysis an exploration will be undertaken within the two main streams of Islam, first and foremost those between the Sunni and Shiia branches and between the Arab and the non-Arab Muslims straight ait down to sub-national communities, tribes, and clansHowever, after 9/11, the Bush Administration along with a bundle of strategies came out and advocated to democratize the Arab world. The main strategy and rationale behind the US government security interest in promoting freedom and democracy is to reduce anti-American terrorism. According to their calculus, the more democracy promoted in the Middle East the less terrorist attack on the US targets take place.Policy designers of the US government might like the idea and would like to think from the American point of view that democracy in Arabia works as in the United States. Unfortunately, there's no evidence for it and therefore, such a kind of decision making is basically wrong. In contrast, it is highly advisable to stop encouraging (and exporting) American democracy in Arabia and the Middle East.

Before September 11, many financial institutions have helped transfer millions of dollars of al-Qaeda's money, without any problem.However, after greater inspection over the past transactions, other policies were created to prevent legal transmission of terrorist funds after 9/11. Today terrorists are increasingly using the informal hawala, a very historical transaction system. To transport the huge amount of cash money, diamonds and gold they use donkeys, mules and horses to transport to the very remote areas.

It is a movement created not by a revolution but out of confusions and in search of their roots with a Black God on the top.Rastafarianism presents a mixture of politics and theology that has emerged out of its formative years, as they call it 'in the Babylon'. In creating their own religion the Rastafarians depend not only on the historical, social or empirical experience of African descendants in the Diaspora but also for their own analysis to determine an active plan for liberation. Regardless of other social norms, they draw on the transcendental sources of human sensibility, theocracy and imagination. For as persons who see themselves to be persecuted, wronged and deprived, to be all but trapped in a situation of persistent material poverty including cultural degradation, the only way they see to get out of this situation 'Babylon' is through an apocalypse. From the early Christian history we know that small groups who have worshipped false gods or established their own Temples never succeeded and their religions have corroded including their followers. However, it seems different with the Rastafarians; because their movement is growing stronger -speeding in almost all the continents. This book is in part a revised version of both books 'Babylon Muss Fallen, Germany 1989 and 'The Rastafarians: In search of Their Identity, Puerto Rico 1985' and in part a contribution of.

Dagegen kann sich Kapitel III über die sowjetische Politik am Horn nur auf den offensichtlichen Gang der Entwicklung und auf westliche Quellen stützen (Zeitungsberichte und westliche Forschungsliteratur). Dieses Kapitel steht daher unter einem gewissen Vorbehalt, weil sow-jetische Archivalien viele Modifizierungen, vielleicht auch einzelne Korrekturen ermöglichen können, aber vermutlich ohne das Gesamtbild entscheidend zu verändern, da die wichtigen Fakten offen zu Tage liegen, wie der Wechsel von Waffenlieferungen, von Somalia zu Äthiopien, samt anschließenden Kriegshandlungen. Mit Agonie und Untergang der Sowjetunion 1991 endete auch ihr aktives Engagement in der Dritten Welt, so daß schon die dahinsiechende Sowjetunion sich am Horn von Afrika, wie auch sonst in Afrika, nur noch selbst abwickelte, durch einen zuletzt galoppierenden Kollaps im freien Fall.Die beiden letzten, sehr viel kürzeren Kapitel werfen einen Seitenblick auf Djibuti, buchstäblich am Rande des äthiopisch-somalischen Epizentrums, und auf 'das Horn von Afrika am Ende des Kalten Krieges'. Das 'Nachwort' skizziert die humanitäre UN-Intervention auf Betreiben der USA, um Somalia aus dem Chaos nach dem staatlichen Zerfall und der Hungersnot in Gefolge des chaotischen Clan-Bürgerkriegs zu retten.Das allerletzte Finale in Form einer 'Empfelung' umreißt im wesentlichen die Notwendigkeit für eine konstruktive Konfliktlösung durch einen modernen Föderalismus in der Region, jeweils mit einer ökonomischen und politischen Dimension. Der Text liest sich wie ein künftiges Regierungsprogramm, gewiß zentriert auf Äthiopien, aber ohne chau-vinistische Verengung oder gar hegemonial-imperiale Absichten. Das Plädoyer für einen konstruktiven Föderalismus liefert zugleich das seltene Beispiel für die Anwendung theoretisch gewonnener Einsichten aus der Geschichte auf ein Gebiet, in diesem Fall räumlich und zeitgleich das Horn von Afrika in und nach dem Kalten Krieg - Geschichte und Politik als praktisch angewandte Wissenschaften.
