The field study was carried out with all the four crops in both the soils and rhizosphere and non-rhizosphere soils were analysed for different P fractions in order to find out the P status as well as to characterize the role of different P- fractions at 45 DAS and at harvest. The study was carried out with all the four crops and five fumigation levels namely B1: No plants; B2: Fumigated soils with plants; B3: Unfumigated soils with plants; B4: Fumigated soils with recommended dose of phosphatic fertilizer as SSP with plants and B5: Unfumigated soil with recommended dose of phosphatic fertilizer as SSP with plants using complete randomized block design (CRD) with four replications. The physico-chemical properties of the soils are pH 7.90, EC 0.35 dSm-1 Av. P 10.45, Av. K 230.60 kg/ha for Alfisols and pH 7.80, EC 0.50 dSm-1 Av. P 17.20, Av.
