An original 1977 signed limited edition embossed etching of kitchen tools by Sondra Mayer. The depictions of basic kitchen tools are very clean and precise and the reliefs are much deeper than other intaglios usu…ally seen. The pale yellow background brings an elegance to the etching and makes the scissors, baster, whisk, and wine opener pop from the canvas. The piece is signed in pencil with the title (Culinary Art II), Edition (94/200), and the artist's signature. Provenance, Suzy Locke.

She was listed in several editions of Who's Who in American Art, Who's Who in the East, and Who's Who in American Women, and her work is illustrated in Intaglio Printmaking Techniques, by Ruth Leaf. Mayer had been associate director of a gallery, top sales executive for Petersburg Press, and a principal in several art ventures. In her later life, she was a private art dealer with a global clientele, marketing high-level museum-quality contemporary and modern American and European art in all media.Provenance: Suzy R.
