This was Yerby's third novel, and the second of his books to be made into a movie (with the same title); released by Columbia Pictures in 1952, it starred Sterling Hayden and Rhonda Fleming.

Vintage photograph of architect Frank Lloyd Wright, gossip columnist Elsa Maxwell, and producer Mike Todd at the premiere of Todd's 1946 Broadway play, held at the Booth Theatre in New York on January 9, 1946. Over the course of his short career in show business, Todd worked as a producer for theatre and film, most notably producing the 1956 Academy Award-winning film "Around the World in 80 Days." He is perhaps best remembered now as Elizabeth Taylor's third husband, the only one whom she did not divorce (Todd died in a plane accident a year after their marriage). 8 x 10 inches.
