First ed.; 8 p., plus frontis.-- color reproduction of portrait of Brodel by Thomas Corner--all immaculate and unmarked within except for date stamped in tiny letters on inner margin of t.p., "NIH LIBRARY" stippled (no color) on lower corner of t.p., and stamped "Library National Institute of Health Bethesda 14, Maryland" stamped in small letters on upper corner of front paste down. Three full-page drawings, Figure 2, Figure 3a and Figure 3b. The frontis. and page with Figure 2 and 2a are detached. Frontis has small closed tear at upper margin. Insert of folder containing what appears to be microfiches of drawings. Spine firm; unfaded maroon boards with gilt holograph of signature of Max Brodel have minimal wear. Text, except for quotation by Thomas S. Cullen, is uncredited.
