Soundly bound in original blind stamped brown cloth with titles decoratively in gilt to spine. Stories paged separately but with sequential page numbers to the spine corner of each leaf. Porrman's House has a woodcut frontispiece. It appears a frontispiece for the whole work may be missing and rear blank endpage lacking. Cloth boards a little dulled and slightly mottled. G++.

First edition. A disbound sermon. Was once bound, and has nicks to the spine where the gathers were. Very clean and tidy. No significant marks. 15 [i] pp. 210 x 130 mm (8¼ x 5 inches). 'Millennial Marsh' as he was known to his congregations, was a Church of England vicar, who leaned heavily towards Evangelism. He was concerned in many of his works and sermons with the conversion of the Jews.

Zustand: VG. Philadelphia 1869 1st Presbyterian Board of Publication. Author was missionary in Mosul, Iraq for 10 years. Rhea himself died in Persia 1865 at age of 38 just after his son died in Persia at age of one year. Three chapters on Armenia and one chapter on Nestorians. Small octavo, 381pp., illusstrations, green cloth with black trim and fancy bright gilt decoration on spine. Very interesting reading. Village library bookplate, pocket removed from rear end paper, several blind stamps and one Sunday school stamp but no spine numbers and text clean and unmarked. Binding secure with original dark brown end papers. VG.
