This work takes up the proceedings of the study days of 1962 during the commemoration of the second centenary of the Social Contract. It studies three questions: the sources of Rousseau's political thought; aspects of his political thought in the Social Contract; and compares the social contract and European political thought from 1762 to the 20th century.
