Green heavy textured cloth with gilt letters on the front cover and the spine and with a vignette in gilt on the front cover of a stylized plant. Some wear to extremities with the corners just barely rubbed through, top and bottom of spine just showing signs of wanting to fray, gilt bright, all illustrations present and in fine condition, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. The color plates by Criddle are truly lovely! Full treatment of each plant: botanical description, geographical description, habitat, and agricultural value. George H. Clark was Seed Commissioner for the Canadian Dept. of Agriculture. Norman Criddle was a pioneering entomologist of the Canadian prairies who also illustrated several agricultural works. James R. Anderson of the gift inscription was Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Victoria, B.C. 20 editions of this book were published between 1913 and 2010. Signed by Author(s).
