The literary scholar Eugène Vinaver (1899-1979) was renowned for his edition of Thomas Malory's Le Morte D'Arthur. This work is a revised portion from his 1947 volume The Works of Sir Thomas Malory. It contains an introduction, a commentary and explanatory notes, with a re-examination of Caxton's edition of the text as well as the manuscript held in the Fellows' Library of Winchester. In publisher's original cloth binding, with original price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally very smart. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Dust wrapper is sunned to the spine with spotting to the front and rear of the wrap. Chipping to the head and tail of the spine and to the upper extremities. Tape repairs to the verso of the wrap, to the head and tail of the spine, and some spotting. Very Good Indeed. book.
