Cloth. Zustand: Good. Not Stated (illustrator). First edition. A first edition copy of this history of Farrington's Regiment, subsequently the 29th Worcestershire Foot, 1694 to 1891. The first edition of this work in the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Ink inscription to the front free end paper. Lieutenant General Thomas Farrington (1664-1712) was a British Army officer and politician who sat in the English and British House of Commons from 1705 to 1712. He raised the 29th (Worcestershire) Regiment of Foot. The author, who was in the 3rd Worcestershire Regiment, gives an account of Farrington's Regiment in this volume, with a list of the sources he used. His appendix gives succession roll of regimental staff officers, chaplains and agents, 1694-1890. He then follows with an alphabetical list of regimental staff officers, with a short account of their services up to the time of their leaving the regiment. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally a little worn to the boards and spine, but gilt remains fairly bright. Hinges are tender, showing the webbing, but remain reasonably firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Good. book.
