When the child starts to act out, Mrs. Grose begins to fear that something is wrong. She confides in her old friend, the governess at the next-door home, and together they start to investigate the situation. Previous owner's bookplate laid in with ghost of its adhesive on first pastedown. Newspaper clippings laid in at back. Slipcase soiled, toned, with pencil to top of back panel; chipped at edges with minor exposure to spine and top edges but still intact.
