In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Mark Severin (illustrator). 32x19cm, 35pp. With ten wood engravings by Mark Severin. Copy 122 of 650 (750) bound by Sangorski and Sutcliffe in quarter-black morocco over tan cloth-covered boards, t.e.g., gold-blocked illustration to upper board, gilt title to backstrip. Mark Severin's semi-erotic style is here more restrained in the service of classical subjects, resulting in a well-balanced and handsome book somewhat reminiscent of earlier small folio GCP glories such as the 'True Historie of Lucian the Samosatenian'. Cave and Manson however criticise some details, such as the erroneous setting of the two footnotes of the introduction in different faces. Very Good (a few scattered foxing spots to some pages but sparing the engravings, tiny inscription in red ink to second front endpaper, lower board very slightly mottled). Cockalorum 177.
