In den WarenkorbOne of 1500 copies printed on Kelmscott handmade paper. Wood engravings by Thomas Lowinsky. Pp. [v], 157, [1]. 8vo., original half white parchment, marbled paper covered boards, spine titled in gilt, top edge gilt, others uncut, in the original card slipcase with title stamped on side. Very good. Written by Voltaire in 1768, The Princess of Babylon is a philosophical tale in the manner of Candide. The text used here is taken from the 1796 edition published in Glasgow. Lowinsky's charming illustrations were a good fit for the text.
