Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - 'Seth Parker's Hymnal' is a rich collection of spiritual songs and traditional hymns curated by the beloved radio personality Seth Parker, a character created by Phillips H. Lord. Capturing the spirit of the immensely popular 1930s radio program 'Sunday Evening at Seth Parker's,' this volume brings the atmosphere of a rural community hymn-sing into the hands of the reader. The work serves as a comprehensive guide to the sacred music that defined a specific era of American religious life, emphasizing themes of faith, fellowship, and nostalgia. The hymnal features a diverse selection of gospel songs and devotional music intended for both personal reflection and group participation. By focusing on the heartfelt and accessible melodies that resonated with millions of listeners during the Golden Age of Radio, the collection provides a unique window into the cultural and spiritual fabric of the early 20th century. Beyond its musical utility, the work stands as a testament to the power of radio in fostering a sense of shared community through song. This collection remains a valuable resource for those interested in the history of American hymnody, the evolution of religious broadcasting, and the timeless appeal of congregational singing. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. This work was reproduced from the original artifact, and remains as true to the original work as possible. Therefore, you may see the original copyright references, library stamps (as most of these works have been housed in our most important libraries around the world), and other notations in the work. This work is in the public domain in the United States of America, and possibly other nations. Softcover. Zustand: Very Good. Later printing. Folio. Originally a single bifolium with a single-sheet-insert making six pages. The leaves are sewn together from once being bound within an album as a result the fold is crinkled and worn with some separation at the top, minor edgewear, with light soiling, offsetting and soiling throughout, a complete and good or better copy. For voice and piano. Byron's lyrics are part of a collaboration with composer Isaac Nathan, together they published a collection of songs under the title *Hebrew Melodies* (1815), which caused a bit of a backlash for Byron due to the pronounced prejudice against the Jewish people in England at the time, with some reviewers criticizing Byron for working on the project. This piece is a different musical setting to Byron's words composed by C.E. Phillips.

Wrappers. 5pp. A dampstain to the bottom right corner of the front wrapper affecting throughout, notched along the spine from once being bound within an album, foxing and offsetting throughout, still a very good and complete copy. For voice and piano. Byron's lyrics to this song are part of a collaboration with composer Isaac Nathan, together they published a collection of songs under the title *Hebrew Melodies* (1815), which caused a bit of a backlash for Byron due to the pronounced prejudice against the Jewish people in England at the time, with some reviewers criticizing Byron for working on the project. This piece is a different musical setting to Byron's words composed by C.E. Phillips.
