Nesse sentido, o Instituto Ibirapitanga promoveu em 2023 o seminário que deu origem ao livro Reparação: memória e reconhecimento, para oferecer caminhos e contornos às questões em torno dos nexos entre memória e reparação, bem como do seu próprio conceito e implicações que estão em disputa e construção. Com cocuradoria da historiadora Luciana da Cruz Brito e a presença de intelectuais brasileiros e estrangeiros, professores, representantes dos movimentos negros, quilombolas e outros membros da sociedade civil, o evento contou com oito rodas de conversas registradas neste livro, que agora podem ser integralmente lidas e referenciadas. Ao reunir experiências, trajetórias, projetos e interesses diversos, a obra traz diálogos com os atuais desafios e necessidades de avanço neste campo no Brasil, que vão desde a preservação de memória na cultura e nos arquivos até a indenização jurídica e financeira. Há diversas possibilidades de reparação e as conversas traçam um amplo caminho para seu debate.
