The Hunts, from Wayne County, Indiana, joined the wagon train of Elijah Patterson. This work is a condensed by understatedly exciting account of their travails. "The five dollars paid for toll on the Barlow Road had left grandfather with only fifty cents in cash to his nme, and with a family of six sons and three daughters to provid for.".
