A detailed and comprehensive study of all the spiders found on the British Isles, with reference to British Araneologists and their work. Including chapters on the collection, preservation and examination of spiders, the external anatomy, and descriptions to the individual species. Written by George Hazelwood Locket, a British arachnologist, and Alfred Frank Millidge, a British arachnologist who wrote several works on spiders and, in 1983, became the first person to describe the spider species Walckenaeria crocea. They shared the 1974 H. H. Bloomer Award for their work. Volume three is also written by Peter Merrett, a British arachnologist. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light wear to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrappers are also smart with minor wear to the extremities and the odd small mark to the panels.
