What is most notable about this body of work is the attraction that Lissitzky had for what was pleasurable in Jewish observance and practice. In addition to the cover illustrations there is a full page color illustration for each of the twelve verses of "Had Gadya," the giddy, rauchous, silly and mystical song that concludes most Haggadot and Seders.
