In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Good. 1st Edition. First edition. Hardback, leporello binding (ie opens out like an accordian). 29.5 × 21.5cm, unpaginated. An example of the "artist's book" as an object, Index I-X presents a series of ten seminal paintings by American artist Terry Winters. Eschewing the traditional codex format, this volume features a leporello (accordion) binding, allowing the reader to either flip through the pages individually or extend the entire book into one long, continuous line. Published by Gallery Mukai, Tokyo, this work captures Winters' fascination with systems, biological structures, and the "computation of chains." Each of the ten paintings - titled Index I through Index X - explores the intersection of organic forms and mathematical abstraction. This format mirrors the serial nature of Winters' practice, making the book itself a piece of performance and sculpture. Condition: The covers are sunned to the edges and with a little marking but the contents are in very good condition.
