His greatest commercial success was the thriller Deathtrap (1978), which ran for 1,793 performances. He also produced John van Druten's three-character comedy The Voice of the Turtle (1943), which ran for 1,557 performances and was later made into a film. Other significant productions included Archibald MacLeish's Pulitzer Prize-winning play J.B.
