Stapled wraps. Zustand: Good. (Vol. 1, No. 5). [some insect-nibbling to the front and rear covers, otherwise nice and clean]. (B&W photographs, cartoons) "Not For Old Fogies," proclaims the masthead, and ain't that the truth! This 48-page monthly journal was dedicated to the proposition that "the flapper is here to stay!", and is jam-packed with gags, fashion tips, verse, beauty contests, news of the film world, health advice, short-short stories, cartoons, and more downright silliness than you can possibly imagine -- but there's also a bracing dose of defiance of the "prudery of the times." The editorial screed in this issue (on the inside front cover) is entitled "We Are for Knickers," which presents an impassioned defense of said garments as economical, convenient, and above all "sensible." (Under the editorial staff is this listing: Contributing Editors, The Flappers of America.) Jazz Age nuttiness at its finest.
