In den WarenkorbHardback. Zustand: Near fine. First Edition. 29 x 29cm near fine hardback exhibition catalogue, no dust jacket. Comes with a card from Knoedler & Company with a message to the art scholar, David Anfam. Catalogue has a great black and white reproduction of an image showing Pollock and Krasner standing in a corner. With colour reproductions showing each artist's work. For decades, prolific American artist and abstract expressionist painter Lee Krasner lived under the shadow of her immensely famous husband, Jackson Pollock. Pollock is known for having a big, overpowering personality, according to Jackson Pollock Paintings, and coupled with the systematic underrepresentation of female artists, Krasner was largely ignored. Before she met Pollock, Krasner was already involved in the New York art scene. According to the Museum of Modern Art, despite institutional restrictions on women pursuing art in the early 20th century, Krasner attended the Cooper Union School of Women s Art and the National Academy of Design.
