Revised Final Draft script for the 1955 film. The eighth and final collaboration of James Stewart and Anthony Mann, and the second film to be released in VistaVision. "Dutch" (Stewart) is a professional baseball player and an ex-pilot who fought during WWII who is recalled to service with the US Air Force. Many speculate that the film was inspired by true-life baseballer and Hall-of-Famer Ted Williams, a WWII veteran who was recalled for service during the Korean War. Nominated for an Academy Award. Self wrappers, noted as FINAL WHITE on the front wrapper, printed production No. 11510, dated February 20, 1954, with credits for screenwriters Davies and Lay. Manuskript / Papierantiquität
Final script for Season 1 Episode 2 of the 1964-1967 television series, seen here under the working title "Pilot Script." Copy belonging to an unidentified cast or crew member, with a seven-page shooting schedule bound in before the script, and several production documents laid in with the script, including two manuscript leaves and one document relating to casting. Loosely based on the 1949 film directed by Henry King, based in turn on the 1948 novel by Beirne Lay Jr. and Sy Bartlett, about a WWII-era bomb commander tasked with improving the performance of his team. In this installment, a bombardier accidentally drops his load prematurely, resulting in the destruction of a Dutch school. The episode originally aired on September 25, 1964, on ABC. Blue titled wrappers, dated November 26, 1963, noted as PILOT SCRIPT on the front wrapper. Title page present, dated November 26, 1963, noted as Final, with credits for screenwriters Beirne Lay Jr. and Paul Monash, and novelists Bartlett and Lay Jr. 82 leaves, with last page of text numbered 64.
