Bound with half title, original blanks and errata leaf.Illustrated with finely engraved title vignette, dedicated leaf vignette, engraved headpieces, tailpieces, initials and many in-text engravings depicting ancient Roman coins.Collated, lacking engraved frontispiece.Compiled by Laurentius Begerus (commonly known as Lorenz Beger), a German antiquarian and librarian, who until 1685 was in charge of the Elector Palatine, and then until his death of the Elector of Brandenburg, whose archives he presided over. For these merits he was elected to the Prussian Academy of Sciences in 1701 (in which year Elector Frederick became King of Prussia) Brandenburg, whose archives he presided over.Register: [a2]-a4, b2, Uuu2-Rrrrr4, Sssss-Aaaaaa2, [Bbbbbb1]. Runs as issued. In full contemporary calf, with raised bands and decorative gilt to the spine. Externally, smart, with rubbing and worming to the extremities.
