Cornelius Cornelii à Lapide SJ (né Cornelis Cornelissen van den Steen; 1567 1637) was a Flemish Catholic priest. He was a Jesuit and exegete of Sacred Scripture. Cornelius à Lapide wrote commentaries on all the books of the Catholic Canon of Scripture, i.e., including the deuterocanonical books, except the Book of Job and the Psalms.

He studied humanities and philosophy at the colleges of Maestricht and Cologne, then theology, at the University of Douai, and afterwards for four years at Louvain; Cornelius a Lapide, well versed in Greek and Hebrew, wrote ample commentaries on all the books of the Catholic Canon of Scripture (with the exception of Job and Psalms) and which were praised both by catholics as well as protestants. Even before leaving Flanders, he edited the "Commentaries in omnes divi Pauli epistolas" (1614) and, "in Pentateuchum" (1616), both at Antwerp. The commentaries on the Greater and Lesser Prophets, on the Acts of the Apostles, the Canonical Epistles and the Apocalypse, Ecclesiasticus and the Proverbs, followed later on. The rest were edited only after his death. All these commentaries are on a very large scale.
