No Binding. Zustand: Good. Disbound article probably from the Century Magazine. Pencil note on the top of the first page says 'Centuary May 1891] by which I believe they mean 'Century.' Langley mentions the Century Magazine in his first paragraph, as well. Pages numbered 783-786. Article by S.P. Langley, the Secretary of the Smi…thsonian Institution takes up pages 783-785. No illustrations. In this short article Langley writes to convince the public that flight by means of heavier-than-air vehicles is, indeed, possible. Langley had been at the Smithsonian for 4 years when this piece was published. Two leaves from the magazine held together with a rusty paperclip. Please email with questions or to request photos. This volume is part of a large collection of Aviation and Ballooning books, a catalogue of which is available upon request.
