He was born at Thalendorf, on Lake Constance, in 1706. He studied painting at Venice under Jacopo Amigoni. He worked in Rome, Bologna, Paris, and England before returning to Venice, where he founded a printmaking school. His students included Francesco Bartolozzi and Antonio Capellan.Biography artist: Jacques de Lajoue (1687-1761) was a French painter and decorative artist in the Rococo style. His designs were often used for prints and architectural decoration. Condition: good, given age. Light foxing, creasing, and soiling. Small tears in lower right margin and some edge wear. 2 pinholes from binding in left margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
