Oblong. - Some wormholes affecting the first 10 plates minimally in the image area, some wormholes present in the outer margins within the rest of the series (thus not affecting image). Nice and clear impressions. * Extremely rare (complete) series of prints made by Johann Ulrich Kraus(s) (1655-1719). Kraus was a student of Melchior Küsel, and became partner in his publishing company. Kraus became one of the most successful and respected illustrators / engravers of his generation in Augsburg. Amongst his publishing-activities are series of prints made after famous painters such as Primaticcio and Albrecht Dürer. This series is a set of reproductions made after paintings by Gerard de Lairesse, mostly known as the "Dutch Poussin" and most notably: as a student of Rembrandt van Rijn.
