Dezember 1945 in Jersey City, New Jersey) war ein de…utscher Physiker und Mathematiker. Korn wurde für seine Versuche zur Bildtelegrafie bekannt. Eine erste einigermaßen annehmbare" (Korn) Übertragung eines Bildes über eine Telefonleitung (München-Nürnberg-München) gelang ihm bereits 1904. Er nutzte dabei eine Selenzelle als Abtastinstrument und eine Nernstlampe als Lichtquelle. Am 17. Oktober 1906 konnte er ein Porträt mittels telegrafischer Übermittlung über 1800 Kilometer versenden. Am Naturforscherkongress in Wien zeigte Korn 1913 die erste gelungene bildtelegraphische Übertragung einer kinematographischen Aufnahme. 1923 gelang ihm medienwirksam aus Rom die Übermittlung einer Bildübertragung von Papst Pius XI. über den Atlantik nach Bar Harbor (USA). Ab 1928 wurde sein System bei der deutschen Polizei eingeführt. Da Korn jüdischer Abstammung war, wurde er 1933 von den Nationalsozialisten aus seiner Position entlassen, emigrierte aber erst 1939 mit seiner Familie über Mexiko in die USA aus. Dort bekam er einen Lehrstuhl für Physik und Mathematik am Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey. (Wikipedia).
