Draft script for an unproduced film, original ribbon copy typescript. Laid in with the script is a two-page typed letter addressed to casting agent Paul Kohner from Terra Film producer Lothar H. Krischer and director Karoly Makk, with manuscript ink annotations to the first page. Also included is a telegraph from Krischer to Kohner introducing the script. Text in German. A young woman arrives at a dilapidated hospital, searching for answers to her past. Academy Award-winning Hungarian director Karoly Makk garnered accolades for his incisive, political films during Hungarian cinema's renaissance in the postwar period, most notably "Love" (1971), "Cats' Play" (1972), and "Another Way" (1982). Red untitled card wrappers. Title page present, with credits for director Karoly Makk and screenwriter Gunther Heller. 171 leaves, with last page of text numbered 169. Fifth Draft script for the 1984 film, seen here under the working title "Playing for Keeps." With copied manuscript annotations and manuscript ink and pencil annotations throughout, most noting scene numbers. After being told by his playwright wife that he is too old for the lead role in her latest production, an aging actor presents himself as the heavily disguised, younger, Italian actor "Roberto Terranova" in order to secure the part. Set in Italy. Blue untitled Robert Halmi Productions wrappers. Title page present, dated 26 September 1983, noted as Fifth Draft, with credits for screenwriter Frank Cucci. 110 leaves, with last page of text numbered 109. Xerographic duplication, rectos only. Copy used by Second Assistant Director, Árpád Sopsits, with his notes, corrections and a few doodles throughout. Some pages torn out and folded as those pages were omitted from the filming. Pages tanned, cover slightly stained, overall very good or better. The script by Makk and Galgóczi, based on the openly lesbian Galgóczi's novel *Another Love* for Makk's 1982 film *Another Way*, a lesbian love story set in Communist Hungary after the 1956 uprising. It was nominated for the Palme d'Or at Cannes. Rare.
