Recently, he was awarded Raman Post Doctoral Fellowship by UGC for the years 201516 for USA. His research is focused on Human growth, Human nutrition, Human genetics, population studies and tribal studies. Dr. PK Patra is Reader in Anthropology at Utkal University, Bhubaneswar since December 2010. He was awarded Ph.D in 2002 and MA in Japanese language in 2003, both from University of Delhi. He received Mombukagakusho Fellowship for postdoctoral research in Japan in 2005. From 2005 to 2009, he worked at University of Leiden in the Netherlands as NWO postdoctoral fellow. Thereafter, in 2010 and 201314, he received ESRC postdoctoral fellowship to do research at University of Sussex in United Kingdom.
