Trade paperback. Zustand: Very good. First Printing [Stated]. The format is approximately 6 inches by 7.5 inches. [10], 189, [1] pages. Illustrated cover. Illustrations. Index. Inscribed by Justin on the title page. The inscription reads Robin, All the best with your work! Justin Patchin. Justin W. Patchin joined the faculty at UW-Eau Claire in 2004. He received his Ph.D. in criminal justice that year from Michigan State University. Since 2002, he has been exploring the intersection of teens and technology, with particular focus on cyberbullying, online social networking, and sexting. He travels around the United States and abroad training educators, counselors, law enforcement officers, parents, and youth on how to prevent and respond to adolescent misuses of technology. Sameer Hinduja is a professor of criminology and criminal justice at Florida Atlantic University. He is recognized internationally for his groundbreaking work about cyberbullying and safe social media use among youth. Cyberbullying happens every day. Harsh words and damaging photos exchanged through texts, email, or social media can result in humiliation, broken friendships, punishment at school, and even legal prosecution. In some cases, online harassment has contributed to teen suicide. Faced with this frightening problem, parents, educators, and teens are looking for information and advice. Many books have been written for adults about what cyberbullying is and what to do about it, but nothing has been written specifically for teens to help them to protect themselves and their peers. Written by the foremost experts in cyberbullying prevention and reviewed by teens, this book provides practical strategies for those who are being cyberbullied, seeing cyberbullying, or who just want to do something to help make their schools a safer and more respectful place. The book includes dozens of real-life stories from those who have experienced cyberbullying, including many who have risen above it to make a positive difference in their schools. In short, "Words Wound" helps students to be the primary agents of change to "delete cyberbullying and make kindness go viral." Are you ready to join the movement?
