Inscribed at top left-hand corner of title-page: 'To my friend Sir Courtenay Mansel with kindest regards from | Julius Harrison | Oct. 26th. 1920'. Moore's poem is printed on the reverse of the first leaf, and facing it, on the recto of the second leaf, is the score. On the reverse of the second leaf is a 'Revised List' of 'The Enoch Art Song Library', with the date of issue ('June, 1920.') at bottom left. There is no copy of this edition in the National Library of Ireland. The only copies on COPAC are at the British Library, the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music. 'To Chloe' had previously been published by Harrison in the collection 'Six Short Songs' (London: Breitkopf & Hartel, [1907]).

Each addressed to 'My dear Francis' and signed 'Julius Harrision' ONE (27 May 1935): 2pp, 4to. He is supervising examinations at Worcester, and discusses arrangements. 'My people left Stourport for Worcester many years ago, but I rather fancy that Worcester will be too far from Birmingham to stay there. I shall, I think, stay in Birmingham itself.' He will be 'away down the Mediterranean until the 14th. so no letters will reach me posted later than the 31st. (Wireless S. S. Strathaird Portishead Radio)'. TWO (23 April 1941): 1p, 4to. The dates Francis suggests 'are quite convenient to me for the Examinations'. He is sorry to have missed him 'the other day'.

Begins 'Dear Boosey, / From the recent batch sent, I return the enclosed which I fancy may all be useful in the English market. / I am struck with the "Flowers in the Valley" as a possible Alto lead number. Please see my remarks thereon.' He explains that he is 'trying to find an Alto lead piece for Cleethorpes Festival next July', and could include the 'Flowers' if it were 'published in C as soon as possible'. 'But the Secretary wants my suggestions within three days, so could you please let me know as soon as you possibly can whether you can and would care to adopt my suggestion'.

Size: 8vo. 216 x 176mm. 2ff. Folded where enveloped. Autograph letters in black ink, signed, on headed note-paper of 6 Lyndhurst Avenue Hastings but actually sent from Malvern. Harrison writes "Dear Sir", regarding the BBC Bristol "will be hiring material of my "Autumn Landscape" [published by Hawkes & Son in 1938] from you withing the next few days". He writes that they should send all available manuscript parts to make up the others "the litho'ed part being very indistinct". The second letter refers to the forthcoming BBC performance on 3 January, conveys his annoyance that the publisher has destroyed the manuscript parts.

For a detailed report of the Incorporated Society of Musicians conference at which these autographs were given, and which took place in Birmingham over the five days between 30 December 1912 and 3 January 1913, see Musical Times, 1 February 1913, pp.113-114. Thirteen signatures of British pre-war musical figures, on ten pieces of paper, ranging from 16 x 19 cm to 7 x 13 cm, nine of them on parts leaves of various colours cut from an album. In good condition, lightly aged. In only two cases are the signatures on both sides of the paper, on the other eight the reverse is blank. The ten pieces of paper are as follows.
