Red cloth covers with gilt skull motif centre front are fairly clean but a few minor surface spots/flecks, spine region fading, corners a little bumped, tiny cloth scrape to front fore-edge - nothing too serious in itself but nett effect is to make covers appear a little tired. Note: fragmentation of text on t.p. is a photographic artefact. A fairly scarce work proposing an alternative to 'species' as a basis for classification and understanding relationships.
