Bascom Slemp 1926" (Not Signed By Coolidge). A Clean, Undamaged Copy, With Cover Gilt Bright, The Spine Lettering Faded But The Cloth Unfaded. Knowland Was Publisher Of The Oakland Tribune, Served In The State Assembly And Senate, And Then Served In Congress From 1904-1915, But Was Unsuccessful In Seeking U S Senate In 1914, Losing To James D Phelan. In 1932 He Persuaded President Hoover And The Reconstruction Finance Corp To Advance $32 Million For Construction Of The Sf-Oakland Bay Bridge, And Was Active In The Republican Party And Many State And National Commissions.
