Amazing Stories is an American science fiction magazine launched in April 1926 by Hugo Gernsback's Experimenter Publishing. It was…the first magazine devoted solely to science fiction. This is the British edition, published by Thorpe and Porter from June 1950 to February 1955, in different sizes and schedules. This issue contains: a range of feature articles, a novel by Rog Philllips, "Weapon from the Stars", shorts by Roy B. Frentz and Alexander Blade, a novelet by Walt Sheldon and a novelet by Frederic Brown, "Gateway to Glory". Condition issues are: 8/7 - LIght edge wear with darkening to a small strip at the top and a 1.5" tapering to .75" strip at the fore edge of the front cover - sun darkening most likely; 9/4 - soiling, stains & small closed tears at the edges of the front cover, small spots to the fore edge of pages 1 -6, & stains to pages 85 - 88 and the back cover; and 9/11 - a 9" diagonal crease at the top right of the front cover through page 16, soiling to the top right of pages 13/14, and light soiling & a couple of small chips to the back cover.
