A new and revised edition, edited by Elias Johnson. Johnson deals with accountancy included double-entry accountancy. "In 1820 a new edition of Hamilton appeared, edited by Elias Johnston, who states that the text had been revised with the advice and approbation of the author. Johnstone rewrote the whole book and based his chapter on book-keeping on a short summary - although with extensive model accounts - of Cronhelm's Double Entry by Single which had appeared in 1818." Roobert Hamilton was a Scottish political economist and mathematician (1743-1829) Slight splitting at front hinge but sound and holding very well. A mixed set of this edition: five of the volumes are first issue, the others being later issues. Small octavo. Ten volumes. The frontispiece to the first volume is from the portrait of the author by Zoffany. Each volume has three plates by William C. Cooke which give accurate depictions of Regency dress. Light green cloth decorated in gilt, top edges gilt. This edition is based on the last one to be published in Austen's lifetime.Ownership inscriptions on several of the front pastedowns. Free endpapers tanned. A few slight bumps to corners of covers. A very good set indeed.
