In diesem Buch wird die Geschichte einer Beziehung erzählt, der Beziehung zwischen Jesus und Kim. Unablässig von der Liebe ihres Herrn verfolgt, sagt Kim ja dazu, Pilger zu werden und sich auf den Weg zu machen, ähnlich wie das jüdische Volk, das durch die Wüste in das Verheißene Land zog. Kims Liebesbeziehung zu Jesus gewinnt immer mehr an Transparenz und Tiefe; sie wird schließlich dahin geführt, in die katholische Kirche einzutreten. Kim geht diesen mutigen Schritt 1984 bei einem Treffen in Ars (Frankreich), das von der Gemeinschaft Löwe vonJuda" gestaltet wurde. Kims geistliche Heimat in den USA war eine kleine, protestantische (charismatische) Gemeinschaft. Erst auf den Reisen durch Europa, Afrika und Indonesien lernt sie die katholische Kirche kennen. 1982, auf dem europäischen charismatischen Kongreß in Straßburg, erfährt sie eine starke Berufung zur Einheit unter den Christen, und sie beschließt, sich in den Dienst derVergebung und Versöhnung zu stellen. Eine entscheidende Rolle auf dem Weg zum Übertritt in die katholische Kirche spielten positive Begegnungen mit Brüdern und Schwestern aus den verschiedensten Konfessionen. Jede dieser Begegnungen gebrauchte Gott als einen Kanal Seiner Gnade. Ohne sie hätte Kim ihrer Berufung nie folgen können. Es soll noch einmal betont werden, wie wichtig die Begegnung mit den verschiedenen Kirchen auf Kims Weg war; denn alle ergänzen einander. Durch Kims Leben können wir;,wie in einer prophetischen Vision, sehen, wie der mystische Leib Jesu allmählich wiederhergestellt wird. Ist dies nicht auch die wichtigste Botschaft, die Kim Kollins verkündigt? Kirn ist tief verwundet von dem Zerbruch des Leibes Christi und fühlt sich zu einem Dienst der Heilung und der Einheit berufen, damit eines Tages die Einheit der Gemeinde Christi in ihrer Vollkommenheit sichtbar wird. Sie geht weiter auf das Licht zu, einen Schritt nach dem anderen. Ihre Hand liegt in der Hand ihres Herrn. Diese Dienerin des Evangeliums geht ihren Weg. Sie überläßt Gott die Verantwortung, ihr die Impulse und Weisungen für ihr Leben und ihren Dienst zu geben. Die Radikalität ihrer Antwort ist in folgendem Satz zusammengefaßt: Wenn der Herr nicht Herr ist über alles in unserem Leben, dann ist er überhaupt nicht unser Herr."
