Endpapers and edges marbled, contents very clean and sound. School crest of the Royal Grammar School, Newcastle upon Tyne on the front board and school prize label to front pastedown. Lord Acton (1834-1902) was an English Catholic historian, politician, and writer, best remembered for the phrase "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.".
