Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware -Johann Matthäus Bechstein (1757 - 1822) war ein deutscher Naturforscher, Forstwissenschaftler und Ornithologe. Er gilt als Pionier des Naturschutzes und der wissenschaftlichen Ornithologie. Seine umfangreichen naturkundlichen Schriften ¿ er beschrieb unter anderem als Erster mehrere Vogelarten ¿ brachten Johann Matthäus Bechstein schon zu Lebzeiten den Ruf als ¿Vater der deutschen Vogelkunde¿ ein. Er war einer der Ersten, die sich für den Naturschutz einsetzten. Bechstein erfaßte die Forderung der Zeit, indem er 1795 in Waltershausen eine der ersten Forstlehranstalten in Deutschland gründete, die er später nach Dreißigacker verlegte. Hohes Niveau prägte den Unterricht, so daß die Anstalt den Rang einer Forstakademie erhielt. Um den Unterricht zielgerichtet gestalten zu können, verfaßte Bechstein für einige Fächer die Lehrbücher selbst, wie zum Beispiel für die Forstinsektologie, die Forstbotanik oder die Waldbeschützungslehre. Der vorliegende Band ist das Resultat seiner Bestrebungen eine Systematik der Forst- und Jagdwissenschaften zu erstellen in Zusammenarbeit mit Fachkollegen. Mit der Waldschützungs-Lehre beginnt die Herausgabe des Repertoriums der gesammelten Forst-und Jagdkunde, das sowohl den Lehrenden als auch den Lehrling und den Ausüber berücksichtigt. Der Waldschutz wird von Bechstein in mittelbaren oder inneren Schutz sowie unmittelbaren oder äusseren Schutz unterteilt, allerdings gelingt ihm in seinen Ausführungen keine saubere Trennung zwischen Waldschutz und Forstrecht Zum mittelbaren Schutz zählt Bechstein die Sicherung der Waldungen in Hinsicht des Eigentums und ihres höchsten Ertrags, den Schutz derselben gegen Servitut-Berechtigte und den Schutz der Waldungen gegen Nachteile bei der Benutzung der Waldprodukte überhaupt. Zu dem unmittelbaren Schutz gehören der Schutz der Waldungen gegen außerordentliche Naturereignisse, gegen Beschädigung durch Menschen und Tiere.
