Jenison provided information in support of the fictional Plot, though he was known to be a man of good social standing, seemingly giving into greed or revenge towards the victims.The Popish Plot was a fictitious conspiracy formed by Titus Oates, in which he alleges that there was a Catholic conspiracy to assassinate Charles II. This led to a fraught anti-Catholic hysteria in England and Scotland. At least 22 men were executed on Oates' accusations. Unbound, as issued. Internally, generally firmly bound, pages 5-8 detaching a little to the tail. Light edge wear to the leaves. Pages are lightly age-toned with the occasional spot and handling mark. Numerical ink to the head of the recto of each leaf. Very faint tide mark to the final leaf. Good. book.
