Gebundene Ausgabe. Zustand: Gut. Gebraucht - Gut - ungelesen, gut, Cover etwas beschädigt, mit leichten Mängeln an Schnitt oder Umschlag durch Lager- oder Transportschaden, als Mängelexemplar gekennzeichnet -This second edition volume expands on the previous edition with a comprehensive update on recent developments in the Adipose Stromal/Stem Cells (ASC) field and the use of stroma vascular fraction (SVF) as a potential therapeutic strategy. The chapters in this book discuss protocols that are focused on discovery, preclinical, and clinical processes. Although most chapters focus on human ASC, there are several chapters that look at small and large animal species with pre-clinical relevance. Written in the highly successful Methods in Molecular Biology series format, chapters include introductions to their respective topics, lists of the necessary materials and reagents, step-by-step, readily reproducible laboratory protocols, and tips in troubleshooting and avoiding known pitfalls.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 284 pp. Englisch.

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Since the publication of the previous editions, there has been increased focus on the use of adipose-derived stromal/stem cells (ASC) and stromal vascular fraction (SVF) cells in three-dimensional hydrogel-based scaffolds for the development of microphysiological systems (MPS) serving as in vitro humanized assays and alternatives to in vivo pre-clinical animal models. This third edition volume discusses of the latest technology and advancements in the field of human-derived ASC and SVF. The chapters in this book are organized into four parts. Part One focuses on human ASC's isolation, characterization, and differentiation. Part Two describes the isolation and characterization of ASC and SVF from canine, feline, and murine tissues. Part Three looks at hydrogels, scaffolds, and microphysiological systems, and Part Four talks about the new assays and applications using ASC. Written in the highly successful Methods in Molecular Biology series format, chapters include introductions to their respective topics, lists of the necessary materials and reagents, step-by-step, readily reproducible laboratory protocols, and tips on troubleshooting and avoiding known pitfalls.Cutting-edge and comprehensive, Adipose-Derived Stem Cells: Methods and Protocols, Third Edition is a valuable resource for both novice and experts researchers interested in learning more about this important and developing field.

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - This reference work presents the origins of cells for tissue engineering and regeneration, including primary cells, tissue-specific stem cells, pluripotent stem cells and trans-differentiated or reprogrammed cells. There is particular emphasis on current understanding of tissue regeneration based on embryology and evolution studies, including mechanisms of amphibian regeneration. The book covers the use of autologous versus allogeneic cell sources, as well as various procedures used for cell isolation and cell pre-conditioning , such as cell sorting, biochemical and biophysical pre-conditioning, transfection and aggregation. It also presents cell modulation using growth factors, molecular factors, epigenetic approaches, changes in biophysical environment, cellular co-culture and other elements of the cellular microenvironment. The pathways of cell delivery are discussed with respect to specific clinical situations, including delivery of ex vivo manipulated cells via local and systemic routes, as well as activation and migration of endogenous reservoirs of reparative cells. The volume concludes with an in-depth discussion of the tracking of cells in vivo and their various regenerative activities inside the body, including differentiation, new tissue formation and actions on other cells by direct cell-to-cell communication and by secretion of biomolecules.
