Second impression. 66pp of text following by hundred of plate illustrations, the majority in colour but a handful are black and white. Oatmeal cloth-covered boards with red lettering front and spine. Large folio. Cloth is a little tired, gently rounded at corners and spine ends. Upper text block edge a little dust darkened, and some faint and occasional spotting on first and last few leaves; front free endpaper has a mild crease else internally neat, clean and tight. In its original worn and torn dust wrapper, some toning especially around spine, with loss of the upper third of the spine area. A mammoth, imposing volume, lavishly illustrated with numerous colour plates.

Cloth. Zustand: Very Good Indeed. None (illustrator). A collection of reproductions of Russian paintings of the 18th and 19th Centuries, along with short biographies of the artists. Depicting both urban and rural scenes, the works here make for a fascinating insight into the enormity and diversity of Tsarist Russia. In cloth binding. Externally very smart, there is only some very minor wear to the extremities and a light mark to the backstrip. Internally, the pages are generally firmly bound and are bright and clean throughout, although there is a inkstamp and inscription to front free endpaper, as well as some light handling marks.
