India and China have recently been among some of the fastest growing economies in the world. This rapid economic growth and targeted poverty reduction programmes have resulted in the incidence of poverty being halved from the 1990 level. India China economic relations and the related spheres of activities are a few of the most positive aspects of the current international relations. With the ongoing economic reform programme and market liberalization process which is gradually being extended to most sectors of the economy new vistas for economic opportunities have been opened between the two countries. Both India and China have not only attempted to deepen their economic interactions within Asia but also between themselves. Bilateral trade and investment links between the two countries have grown rapidly over the past few years suggesting the presence of complementarities and unexploited potentials. This book is a collection of 19 research papers which cover trends in bilateral trade and other economic relations between India and china. This book highlights the emergence of India and China as major economic forces in the world and stresses their growing openness as a key factor for closer economic integration between these two countries.
