Please see our storefront page for shipping information] Deas was asked to prepare a report on what measures would be needed to protect the banks of the river from the city centre of Glasgow upstream to Dalbeth. the floods of the previous April had caused severe indundation in the upper reaches of the river as well as serious damage and silting in the harbour.

Owner's plate on ffep - William Dick Cleland Deas was the Superintendent of the river Clyde, and this book was based on a paper given in 1873 to the ICE, for which he was awarded a Telford Avenue by the Institution. It includes additional material and commentary on his paper, as well as the updated paper itself. (Harper and Dick-Cleland were a Glasgow engineering firm).
