Owner's plate on ffep - William Dick Cleland Deas was the Superintendent of the river Clyde, and this book was based on a paper given in 1873 to the ICE, for which he was awarded a Telford Avenue by the Institution. It includes additional material and commentary on his paper, as well as the updated paper itself. (Harper and Dick-Cleland were a Glasgow engineering firm).
